Peter Gulacsi Suffers Serious Knee Injury

Leipzig's Goalkeeper Out for Months

Injury Blow for Bundesliga Contenders

RB Leipzig goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi has suffered a serious knee injury in the UEFA Champions League match against Celtic Glasgow. The Hungarian international went down in the 10th minute of the game and had to be stretchered off.

The club has confirmed that Gulácsi has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will be out for the rest of the season. This is a major blow for Leipzig, who are competing for the Bundesliga title and have made it to the last 16 of the Champions League.

Gulacsi has been in excellent form for Leipzig this season, keeping 11 clean sheets in 24 appearances in all competitions. He was also part of the Hungary squad that reached the last 16 of Euro 2020.

Leipzig will now have to turn to André Blake or Janis Blaswich as their first-choice goalkeeper. Both players have limited experience at this level, but they will need to step up in the absence of Gulácsi.

The injury to Gulácsi is a big setback for Leipzig, but they will be hoping that he can return to full fitness as soon as possible.
