Eurofighter performs first manned flight after 20 years of service

Twin-engine aircraft remains in active duty with multiple air forces

First manned flight in over two decades marks a significant milestone for the Eurofighter

After nearly 20 years in service with various air forces, the Eurofighter recently performed its first manned flight. The flight, which lasted one hour and five minutes, was conducted by chief warrant officer Christian of the German Air Force.

The Eurofighter is a single-seat, all-weather multirole combat aircraft. It is capable of performing a variety of missions, including air defense, air-to-air combat, and ground attack. The aircraft is currently in service with several countries, including Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Spain.

The Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) is a multinational initiative led by the United Kingdom and Italy. The program aims to develop a next-generation combat aircraft that will replace the Eurofighter and other legacy aircraft.
