BREAKING NEWS: German Tour Operator FTI Files for Insolvency Protection

Creditors Affected, Future Trips Cancelled or Scaled Back

FTI Group Subsidiary in Switzerland Remains Operational

Berlin, Germany – German tour operator FTI has filed for insolvency protection from creditors, casting a shadow over the travel plans of many holidaymakers.

The company, part of the FTI Group, has announced that trips that have not yet commenced will be cancelled or significantly reduced in scope. FTI offers holidays in over 120 countries, including hotel-only deals, beach vacations, and personalized itineraries.

The news comes as a blow to the German travel industry, which has been struggling with travel restrictions and flight cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. FTI's insolvency protection filing is the latest sign of the financial challenges facing the tourism sector.

FTI's Swiss subsidiary, FTI Touristik AG, which emerged in 1997 from the well-known CA Fernreisen AG, is not affected by the insolvency filing and remains operational.
